Open Studios Brno is actually a two days “festival” of contemporary art. We aim to map and introduce the art scene of Brno through one of its very specific faces.

Creative clusters, in other words, places where certain community of artists and creative gangs turn into an “open house”. The public thus gets the chance to encounter the artworks of a variety of visual artists “right at the source” and to get under the surface of their work.

The visitors will find out more about the artists themselves, about the creative, learn about how the artists think; simply put, they will be able to experience the creative atmosphere first hand.

Our project was also hit by a worldwide pandemic, so we were forced to make several changes during its preparation. As a result of this situation, we have decided to lighten and simplify this yearʼs program as much as possible. Even so, we come up with two new features.

The first is a shift in the conceptual focus of our project – this year we will focus on the presentation of only visual artists. We believe that this step will make our events clearer and that it will offer visitors an even better and more comprehensive view of the current Brno art scene.

The second novelty concerns the program – Artist Talks is a new accompanying format in which selected authors will present themselves in their studio in a lecture of about an hour.
